This small ZDoom level was another experiment for me, this time in ACS scripting. I used the scripts to modify the environment and give players a more dynamic battle to fight. This level uses the same hellish fire and brown rock theme of the original Fear of God project, but the detail I used here is minimal. Overall I think it is a decent level, but suffers from a few problems. Its very short, and showcases some of my scripting ignorance at the time. For example, the spider mastermind will not spawn if monsters are in the way, and furthermore you don’t have to fight here anyway. Simply wait a minuet or so, and the stairway leading to the portal will rise. Also, there is absolutely no reason for the red key. It is just there… Fortunately the game play, brief as it may be, is engaging enough. |
